Barky Boats is all about perseverance and listening, so now it's time to learn about perseverance and listening with two Bluey episodes - Handstand and Library!
The first lesson uses intentional teaching strategies to focus on the capabilities of perseverance. Children will explore perseverance with learning a new skill. They focus on trusting themselves to give new experiences a try and use simple statements like ‘I believe I can do it’ to help them succeed with a new perseverance challenge. It is a fun way to set a challenge and find out what it takes to be persistent and persevere to achieve a new skill.
In the second lesson, kids explore the value of listening. They begin by watching the Bluey episode and talk about what they observed in this episode. They then work with their parent/carer to practise their listening skills by listening and moving to a range of music. Kids will then choose a book and work with their parent/carer to make their own music to help tell the story in the book.
